RESOLUTION REGARDING COMMENCEMENT

OF REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS

At a REGULAR meeting of the Wayne City Council of the City of Wayne, Michigan, held at Wayne City Hall on May 5, 2020 via ZOOM, the following resolution was offered by WAGNER and supported by DOWD.

WHEREAS, the City of Wayne (the "City") desires to change the time it begins regular City Council meetings.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:

1.  That effective upon adoption of this Resolution, Section 2.1 of the Policies and Procedures of City Council Meetings is amended to provide that regular meetings of the City Council are to begin at 7:00 pm on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, Wayne, Michigan, this 5th day of May, 2020.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON

THE PROPOSED 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR BUDGET

AND THE 2020 PROPERTY TAX RATES

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City Council of the City of Wayne, Wayne County, Michigan will hold a public hearing to take testimony and discuss the City's Budget for July 1, 2020 through June 30, 22021.  The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 8:00 o'clock in the evening, at the City Council Chambers, 3355 S. Wayne Rd., Wayne, Michigan 48184. This hearing is being held pursuant to Section 16 of the Uniform Budgeting and Accounting Act (Truth in Budgeting, MCL 141.436).

Las Fiscal Year (July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020), the City of Wayne Levied 14.9160 mills for operating purposes, 0.9637 mills for retirement, 0.9943 mills for recreation, 0.9944 mill for the road program, 1.9887 mills for library purposes, and 2.8910 mills for Solid Waste.  The proposed FY 2020-2021 Budget recommends 14.9160 mills for operating purposes, 0.9637 mills for retirement, 0.9943 mills for recreation, 1.0000 mill for public safety, 0.9944 mill for police, 01361 mill for Act 359 (adver/promo), 0.9944 mill for the road program, 1.9887 mills for library purposes, and 2.8910 mills for Solid Waste.

A copy of the proposed budget will be available for inspection at: City Clerk's  Office, Wayne City Hall, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 3355 S. Wayne Rd., Wayne, Michigan, 48184, Telephone: (734) 722-2000.

THE PROPERTY TAX MILLAGE RATE PROPOSED TO BE LEVIED TO SUPPORT THE PROPOSED BUDGET WILL BE A SUBJECT OF THIS HEARING.

This Notice is given by order of the City Council for the City of Wayne, Michigan.

2020 GENERAL NOTICE REGARDING WEED CONTROL

No person who is the owner, occupant or lessee of real property in the City of Wayne, shall allow grass, weeds, vines or other vegetation to grow to an average height of greater than six (6) inches on his or her property.

Any person who fails to comply with the provisions of Chapter 1459 of the Codified Ordinance of Wayne shall be liable to the imposition of penalties and expenses incurred by the City in declaring the property an nuisance and abating all nuisance conditions created by the overgrowth.

Fees for mowing, established by the City Council, are as follows:

Lots less that 20,000 sq. ft. - $250.00

Lots between 20,000 sq. ft. & 1 acre - $300.00

Over 1 acre / per acre basis - $325.00

Railroad crossing intersecting roadways - $200.00
